Jesus is there

Many people wonder why God created them, but the Bible says we were all created for God’s pleasure. I couldn’t wrap my own head around the fact that God made me for his pleasure. I am a sinner who doesn’t deserve God’s mercy or grace. How could God get pleasure for my sinful ways? Everyone sins and fall short of God’s glory. However, through Jesus, we can be forgiven of those sins and be cover by his blood sacrifice.

Rev. 4:12 (KJV) “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for Thou has created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

This verse means a lot to me, as someone who truly tries to remember every day to somehow bring God pleasure. I love writing, so I use my talent to try and make sense of my everyday stumbles. Sometimes, I feel like God is right there holding my hand but other times I feel he is distant. However, I truly believe that my sin blocks my relationship with God and I choose to repent. I know I am forgiven when I stumble and fall. He is there to lift me back up, because he loves me.

Psalms 72:13 (KJV) “He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.”

So, now I try to take time to honor God every day. No matter the storm I am facing, I am trying to remember to pray and stay connected with God. I love reading and listening to my Bible, but I use a YOU VERSION app on my phone. I have been learning more and trying to always remember to thank God for each new day that I wake up. I am imperfect and I know that, but God wants me as I am. He can mold me into what he wants me to be with each new step.

Many times we give up too fast and forget that God has given us a destiny to follow using our talents that he has given each of us. Unfortunately, we believe that the road to our dreams may be far off and impossible to obtain. Throughout life, we tend to forget that God can always open doors for us along the path he has laid out for us. However, we must have faith and belief in what God can do for us, as we pursue our dreams.

The first memory verse is: Matthew 19:26-But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. (KJV)

Nothing is impossible with God, so take time to get to know him as your heavenly father and strengthen your faith in him. Additionally, begin studying the Holy Bible, which is God’s letter of love to you and your family. You can begin strengthening your faith and your relationship with your heavenly father, by taking time out to study God’s word daily. Studying allows you to learn how God has helped others he loves, as well as learning how he can help you.

Always pray to your heavenly father daily and allow God to handle your burdens, instead of trying to fix them yourself. He can guide you in the ways that will help you succeed in chasing your dreams, but don’t forget about God after you have found your success. Remember, God knows your heart and he can take your success away. Especially, if it begins to separate you from him, because you know that he is a jealous God.

The second memory verse is: Luke 18:27-And he said, the things which are impossible for men are possible with God. (KJV)

Sometimes, you need to be reminded that God has a purpose for you, because you may lose your faith during everyday life. In addition, you tend to move away from God during the good times in our lives and run to him for help during the crisis and trials we may face in our daily lives. Remember that nothing is impossible with God on your side, so walk proud and know the he has a plan for you. Allow him to guide throughout life’s ups and downs, while following the plan that he has created just for you.

Start including God in on every decision you make, by praying first and waiting on his response to you. Knowing God can help you chase your dreams, as well as removing any obstacles which may pop up throughout your journey. Additionally, trust God to provide all that you need to make your dreams come true. No matter what dream God has given you, remember that the he promises that nothing is impossible for him.

Forgiving Ourselves and Others

Have you struggled with forgiving someone who has hurt you or abused you? Do you find yourself thinking about it a lot lately? If so, this is normal to feel whenever someone you trust has intentionally hurt you. However, you must find a way to give your hurt and pain to the Lord, for he will release you of the burden of guilt. Then, he will help you learn how to forgive those who have victimized you or someone you love.

The first memory verse is: Acts 3:19, “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”(KJV)

As you recite this verse, remember that you must confess all of your sins against God and others. Once you ask him to forgive you for all of your sins, he is just and will erase all of your sins immediately. For we must spend time, learning exactly what forgiveness truly is, because it can hinder your spiritual growth. Honestly, forgiveness is ceasing to be angry over unacceptable behaviors that have affected you.

By forgiving someone, you are not giving them your permission to repeat the behaviors that hurt you. Instead, you should recognize the feelings that you feel, since these emotions are only going to cause you pain. Be honest and ask for the forgiveness of others, once you have evaluated your role in the entire situation. This way, you can free yourself, from the burden of bitterness and anger that can lead to depression.

The second memory verse is 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”(KJV)

Recite this verse, as you begin your transitional journey from being a victim to becoming a survivor. No matter what has happened in the past, you can fully overcome its negative effect on your life. However, you must forgive others also, for the pain and anguish or their behaviors or actions to stop. But, by allowing the offender to receive mercy, you are becoming worthy of God’s complete forgiveness.

No longer will you receive condemnation, instead you will find peace that passes all understanding. In that moment, you will feel the burden of your guilt start melt away as the anguish disappears. Suddenly, all of your past iniquities will be washed away and fully forgotten by your heavenly father. Therefore, you will become a new creature in Christ, who is totally blameless and spotless before God.

Do you feel overwhelmed by life, as you know it? Are you a Christian, who is struggling to find peace and rest in your daily life? Did you know that God has promised to give you rest each week? But, only if you met his conditions and learn to believe in his promises with faith. Then, you must fulfill God’s conditions, in order to receive the rest that he has waiting for you. His conditions are very important, because your obedience shows him that you truly believe in his promises to you.
First memory verse is Hebrews 4: 9, “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God!”(KJV)
Did you know that God is there waiting for you, to enter into his rest? But, you must remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. Don’t perform any work on this day, instead, use this special day to spend time with God. Start learning more about his promises to you, by setting aside a certain day of the week to rest and read his word. Many Christians believe that Sunday should be the only holy day. However, other religions believe that Saturday is the true Sabbath day.
In today’s culture, some people are forced to work on these days. So, they must choose a different day to keep holy and begin learning more about his promises. Starting today, choose a day, which you have off work each week, like Monday or Wednesday. Then, each week, honor him by believing and entering into his peaceful rest. Before long, you will find yourself fully resting on God’s promises and sharing in fellowship with God.
Second memory verse is Hebrews 4:10,”For he that has entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.”(KJV)
In the beginning, God labored for six days and he rested on the seventh day. He gave you an example, which you should follow throughout your journey. Even, if you stumble and fall, God will be there to help you back to your feet. He will be there waiting patiently, for you to meet his conditions and receive his promises. So, remember to keep the Sabbath holy and you will finally enter into his rest and find the peace that you have longed for.
Your father will give you a peace that passes all understanding, once you have faithfully entered his rest. Only God can ease your troubled mind and heal your broken heart, but you must come to him first. Go ahead and lay your head upon his chest, while his love will cover your soul and wisdom will fill your heart. Therefore, you will find the rest, which God have promised you and peace that will sustain your soul.

Devotional: Get Over It and Move On

angry control itSometimes you will find yourself in a situation that you don’t want to be in, however, you must face the situation and continue moving forward. The situation may concern having a horrible childhood, not getting a promotion at work, or a dispute with the new neighbor. Nevertheless, you must not dwell on things and are beyond your control, instead focus on things you can change. You cannot change a childhood, so you must forgive your parents and focus on changing your future. This way, future generations will not continue the abuse or neglect that you felt as a child.

The promotion at work was given to a younger person, who may not have had as many years with the company as you have. However, this is beyond your control and the person who got the promotion may have a college degree that you don’t have. In this situation, you must continue to do the job that you’re given or find another place of employment. Either way, you must forgive your boss and the person who got the promotion, if you have gotten angry about the situation or angry with both parties.

Furthermore, you can work hard and take some college courses, which may guarantee that you will not be passed over whenever the next promotion takes place. If you have a dispute with your new neighbor, you must try to dissolve this dispute in a civil yet timely manner. Unfortunately, some people are impossible to deal with and that will not come to any kind of compromise. So therefore, try to stop the argument, by producing all documents that show your land line or what the argument was about. Additionally, you must forgive you neighbor and move forward in solving the issue at hand.

Sometimes this means, you must compromise or even seek legal advice on solving the problem. However, you must forgive your neighbor, if you get angry with him and let God handle the situation. Don’t let yourself stay in a pity party, instead get up and change your situation. Sometimes you are going to come across situations that you can’t change. Therefore, you must learn to pray and give your problems to God, because he is only one who can change the situation. Don’t be a negative person, because of something that was done to you, which was beyond your control. Additionally, get over it and dwell on things that can change your situation, while helping you move forward in your life.

Parents Stop Breaking Your Teenager’s Spirit

teen dep. quoteParents stop berating and yelling at your teenager, because you are destroying your child’s self-esteem more harm. Don’t curse at your teenager, instead give the teenager respect and you will find that they will begin to respect you as well. Be clear in your communication when saying yes and no, this way you are not sending mixed signals to your teen. Sometimes, you have to step back as parent, while encouraging your teenager to practice working on their talents and gifts that God gave them.

Let them know that you love them just the way they are and that they do not have change anything. Stop having power struggles with your teenager and you will see a difference in the way that they will respond to you. Don’t call them degrading names or compare them to their father or their mother in a negative way, since this can make the teenager feel worthless. Never say negative things about their mother or father, whether absent or not.

This behavior by parents can cause the teenager to turn to drugs or alcohol abuse. Teenagers with low self-esteem will act out and self-medicate to escape the mental pain that they feel.  Unfortunately, one mistake can cause a landslide of issues like: teen pregnancy, drug use, trouble with the law, and other bad behavior. Don’t expect to see a change in your teenager’s behavior, until you begin to change the way that you respond to them.

Pray for your children and with your teenagers, while speaking blessings and positive things over them. Be sure to take them to a Bible believing church, which will help build the teenager’s character as they grow into an adult. However, to see a change in your teenager, you must first change yourself and realize that you were once a teenager yourself. Was life hard for you as a teenager and did you have power struggles with your parents as well?

Teenagers can become anyone that they want to become, yet they must work hard to achieve the goals that they have set for themselves. As a parent, you should be a cheerleader and the disciplinarian at the same time. Teenagers need boundaries that they can follow and they need immediate consequences whenever they step out of line. Therefore, take this time to change the way that you respond to your teenager’s achievements and misbehaviors.
