Begin Rising Shattered Spirit

Any form of abusive relationships will bring some heartbreaking and yet real storms in your life, because your lover is the very person abusing you. This type of marriage or relationship will completely shatter your inner spirit and break your mind, while guiding you towards major depression. Now, sex is nothing, conflict is constant, and you feel like you are not worth anything not even someone’s time. These toxic relationships steal your joy, peace of mind and security, and bring unnecessary drama and/or conflict in your life.

Putting Yourself First

Now, you are literally picking up each jagged little piece of your heart and you are trying to learn how to be a survivor. Recovery starts when you decide to stand up and stop the abuse in safe manner for yourself and your children, if needed. Keep the motivation for becoming a survivor, by remembering that your abuser will blame you for things that you are not doing like: cheating and lying. Yet, the abuser is the one who is taking your power away while causing you pain by: lying, and/or cheating.

I Don’t Deserve This

Mind games are the hardest part of the recovery as a survivor because you are stuck on trying to understand what happened? You are asking yourself, why did this person that you adore, so damn mean to you. They convince you that you deserve to be put down for your weight or whatever they think is bad or wrong with you. The abusive partner will place blame on you, because they have to make you the bad guy in every situation.

Focus On Fixing Yourself

However, why lay around wondering why you are not good enough for someone to care and love without the abuse or pain? Instead, start working on your self-esteem, by fixing the things that make you sad in your everyday life. Always focus on becoming a better version of yourself each new day and soon you will have the strength to walk away from the abuse. The survivor truly has a broken mind and spirit that causes depression and sadness in a person, which can lead to some really bad choices.

Planning a Safe Exit

The survivor of any type of abuse will mostly likely believe the abuser’s main lie, because they are groomed and controlled by their emotions. An abuser tends to isolate the victim during the relationship, so they gain their trust and cause issues with everyone else in the victim’s life. They may start conflict with the victim’s family and friends, which causes the victim to lose those personal connections. Survivor will reconnect with family and friends to create an exit plan, which will provide a safe way to leave.

Keep Moving Forward

Get help and counseling now, because you are beautiful and your abuser did not care about you or your feelings. The abuser began tearing you down, taking your power, and breaking your spirit, as well as messing with your mind. You are a survivor, so hold your head up and take back your power by building your life without this person in it. Make sure you tell them to kick rocks and never allow them to return under any circumstance.

Avoid Click, Click…Boom Moments!

I do not own the copyright to this image.

There are going to be times when you will find out certain things that may hurt or upset you about someone you love. Focus on maintaining your composure and gather your thoughts before you decide to react to the revelation. Sometimes, you must deal with the pain of knowing the truth. Stay silent, but inside you are putting different things together about a person that you have never noticed before.

Each new frame that rolls in your mind will be different snapshots and memories that you have stored in your mind over time. As the pictures, conversations, and actions begin to line up perfectly like a jigsaw puzzle. Honestly, you are now fast approaching an uncontrollable angry explosion, which is known as a click, click…boom moment! Unfortunately, you know the truth based on your own perception of what you have seen or heard.

These thoughts stir up your anger, while you fight to hold back the spontaneous combustion that you know is quickly coming. Stop allowing these thoughts to dominate your mind, instead distract yourself with watching funny videos or listening to upbeat music. Don’t focus on the pain you feel, instead be thankful that you now know the absolute truth and start changing your part in the narrative of your story.

Walk away and let it go, because it is not healthy to hold anger in or to allow it to fester due to the pain you feel at this moment. Stay strong and keep moving away from them, until you are no longer part of their life. Try to identify or learn what triggers your angry outbursts and learn to let go for peace sakes. Remember that becoming angry is natural, but letting your temper explode on your family and friends is not.

Temptation Moved In Next Store

Two months ago, temptation literally moved in next store to me. I became anxious and worried about my own path to recovery as an recovering addict. I have over two years clean from an addiction to Crack cocaine. I didn’t use regularly, but I fell too many times into an addiction trying to beat an addiction to opiates.

First of all, I became angry to see the dealer pull up to his house. Then, I got even angrier when he borrowed something from me and it didn’t matter what it was. Honestly, I never really fought the urge to use that drug again, but I fought the urge to not feel the pain that I feel ever since my cancer treatment within my stomach, back, and legs.

I am so proud of myself, because I was able to truly overcome the devil and keep moving forward in my own recovery and my life. For a moment, I did become weak and I immediately leaned on my support system. They each guided me in the steps to take daily as this drug is displayed in my face on a regular basis.

Most of all, I am praying for the addict, which is all I can do to be honest. I am damn proud of myself for continuing to rock sobriety, even when others thought I would not make it in my sober journey. Additionally, I have had a stable home for nine months and I have worked hard to make amends with my family and friends.

If you are rocking sobriety, give me a “Hell yeah” in the comments!

Beating the Blues…

Do you ever feel like you are alone, when you are in the midst of life’s storm? Do you ever wonder where God is, as the bricks of life start to crumble around you? It is natural to get angry or afraid, but you don’t have to let it consume your mind. Sometimes, it is easy to forget all of God’s promises, which he made just for you. So, here is a verse for you to copy and memorize, for whenever you feel abandoned or blue.

Deuteronomy 30: 8, “And the Lord, he it is that do go before thee; he will be with thee, He will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” (KJV)

Have faith and believe that he is with you always, no matter where you are. As you recite, imagine a spiritual blanket of peace and comfort for you to rest in. You will begin a transition in a new person that you have always wanted to be. Remember, he chose you to be a soldier in his army, who is able to stand in the face of trials and tribulations. God will lovingly bring to your knees, so you can become stronger and stand in the midst of life’s trials.

Each day he wants to give you more wisdom, which found in the Bible. He will shape your life and mold you in his grace, while chasing the blues away. God doesn’t want you to feel alone or to fear his presence. Instead, he wants us to crave the meat of his word and personal time with him. When you find your comfort in his arms, grow spiritually by allowing you to experience these trials. Your spiritual father knows that you are not perfect and that you will fail, but his mercy is there waiting to catch you.

The next memory verse is Romans 3:23, “For we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (KJV)

Fortunately, he forgives you for your mistakes and he welcomes you back into his comforting embrace.  But, you must be sincere and willing to learn what he has to teach you. When Life is scary or out of control, you must turn to him. Always remember that God won’t give you more than you can bear, since he is with you always. Learn more about his promises to you, by spending time with his word every day.

Remember, God is always in control! So, give him the reins and let him guide your path to spiritual happiness. You will find unconditional love and forgiveness, which is beyond any human understanding or capabilities. By allowing him to mold you into a new person, you become fully protected by God’s spiritual armor. Therefore, as you grow, you will find the spiritual peace and rest that you have always longed for.

There are other things to do to take your mind off things. You need to find people who enjoy the same hobbies that you do. However, you could also learn new obvious that your new friends like.

There are things like fishing, boating, bowling, mudding, racing, horseback riding, and so much more. Look for new things to do, instead of sitting at home and staying stuck inside your own head.

You can find things that do not include other people or a lot of money. However, you may find something that may interest you need to take time to explore new things you and your friends that you have made since you turned your life around.

Never allow anyone to make you feel like there is nothing to do now that you are sober and in recovery. A new life has just begun for you and you should explore new hobbies and friends who live a clean life.

You can make friends at local AA or NA groups, as well as local online groups. Don’t give up on making new friends or new hobbies, just because you’re having a setback at the moment.

Take time to learn from every setback and every new obstacle that you may encounter on your journey. You have the power to change your life, once you’re beaten your demons and have entered recovery.

Look around online for new forms of exercise like: CrossFit, yoga, Pilates, and martial arts to name a few. This new routine of exercising will help you avoid gaining weight once you slay your demons and become sober. Furthermore, Stress can also be managed by creating a regular release system through exercise or new hobbies.

Spread Positive Seeds

By, Crystal S. Kauffman-Amon

Sometimes, when I meet a person for the first time, I literally will have to get away from this person as fast as I can. I can just feel their negative energy pouring off of them before they even say a word to me. Immediately, these negative people will have this defeated look that seems to stay with them throughout the time that you are around them.

It gets worse, whenever they talk because they seem full on negative comments or contradictions as they talk. Nothing is ever good enough for them, since life has always been terrible for them and they choose to remain in addiction. However, they don’t realize that they are giving power to the negative energy and words, by planting seeds that will grow.

Instead, be a person who plants positive seeds and spread positive energy everywhere you go throughout your day. There will be disappointments, but don’t dwell on them and become negative or bitter. Take what you have learned and apply it to the next adventure that you plan to take, whether it is a new school or a new job.

Remember, setbacks are temporary and designed to make you feel like a failure, but learn from that setback and make the next moment your comeback. Spread those positive seeds, by helping others who are new in recovery and may need a shoulder to lean on or a friend to help them in their moment of weakness.
